ROCCAT™ Vire Gaming Headset

ROCCAT™, the young Hamburg-based manufacturer of professional gaming accessories, produced an input device in 2008 in the form of the ROCCAT™ Kone Gaming Mouse that is right at the forefront of the global premier league of gaming mice. With the Vire Mobile Communication Gaming Headset, ROCCAT will be presenting in June what is probably the lightest gaming headset in the world. The smart in-ear headphones are equipped with an in-line microphone making them a real multi-talented performer. Using the accompanying adapters, the Vire can be used for gaming on the PC or handheld console, for mobile comms using a cell phone or for enjoying music while on the move on an MP3 player.

Ultra-lightweight gaming headset

Following a trend set in Korea, a world leader in professional gaming, ROCCAT’s offering in the form of the Vire will be the first headset to combine earphones and a microphone – and which can be connected not only to cell phones, but to PCs as well. Korean pro-gamers, particularly strategy gamers such as Warcraft3 gamers, are already using earphones themselves in professional tournaments as they find normal headphones too heavy and warm. Here they require a separate microphone for voice input. ROCCAT is addressing this trend, and going one step further: it has developed an ultra-lightweight in-ear headset which combines a set of earphones and a microphone, and which can be used with a wide range of devices
