The ROCCAT April Open Bonanza with EnemyDown and Meroncourt

The newly rejuvenated Enemydown has announced a new competition entitled The ROCCAT April Open Bonanza. The idea behind it is to reward teams for activity in the CS:S open ladder.
In order to do this Enemydown has teamed up with ROCCAT and Meroncourt and will provide an opportunity for teams to win one of the three sets of prizes.
All you have to do is play matches on the open ladders during the month of April to be in with a chance to win. Only teams who are in the open ladder as of the 31st of march 2010 qualify for this event.
Our first prize will go to the team who tops the ladder at precisely 23:59 on April 30th 2010 and 5 lucky clan members will win a ROCCAT Arvo keyboard each! each.
For those who aren’t perhaps ready to top the ladder, you still have a great chance to win with 5 ROCCAT Kova mice up for grabs to the team who plays the most games in a open ladder (not overall activity) during April and best of all, it doesn’t matter what game you play as long as you are playing in an open ladder, it is open to all!
Finally, for those who are neither the most active or most successful, we have given you a chance to win too. All you have to do is have your team inside the top 20 on the Open CSS ladder at 23:59 on April 30th 2010 to be in with a chance to win a the excellent ROCCAT Apuri (5 per team). The winner will be drawn at random from the top 20 finishers.

Whoopty at XSReviews has reviewed the ROCCAT Kova and awarded it 4* and 8/10 which continues the run of excellent results we have had so far.
Well once again Roccat have delivered a fine product. It’s got great speed, excellent accuracy, and glides smoothly across most mat surfaces. It comes without drivers, and has colour settings and adjustable DPI on the fly without issues.

Alex at Geeksmack concluded after running three different performance tests ie Acceleration to Response time test, Gaming test, Gaming comfort test that :
This mouse is a thing of beauty. Everything seems to make sense and it will impress all of your friends. Paired up with the Sota, this mouse makes one half of the SDMS range and together they are amazing products. In fact this mouse is so good, I urge you to get in touch with your local Roccat dealer and buy this product sometime in November.
Both products receive the Editors choice reward.

First UK On Line Review for ROCCAT Kova Gamers Mouse
David Mitchelson (Mishima) of Vortez.co.uk is the first to submit his review of the Roccat Kova
Choosing the best gaming mouse out there can be a difficult decision to make. There are now many brand to choose from, and within these brands, many models. The Roccat Kova could be considered as one of the top gaming mice out there to date.
The Kova is a strong performer and there is definitely appeal for the simplistic design as well as driverless configuration. Appeal for the effortless design, but also the thoughtfulness for left and right handed gamers. This will stand out as a very versatile gaming mouse due to this feature. There aren’t many mice out there that will provide for both types of user.

Two new mouse releases from Roccat
ROCCAT Pyra
The ROCCAT Pyra notebook gaming mouse is a real innovation. According to the latest plans, it should be released in November and cost between €50 – €60. Going by the information we have, the Pyra will be a wireless mouse with a 1000Hz polling rate and a maximum resolution of 1600dpi. The batteries will be rechargeable and the charging cable can be connected to the mouse, charging the batteries via USB while in use. In total the Pyra has five buttons – with the two additional buttons located on the left and right respectively.
In the first practical test the Pyra made a positive impact thanks to its compact size, great grip and the additional buttons. Of course we’ll only be able to say whether the mouse cuts it in the practical endurance test too once there’s been an in-depth test carried out. That said, our initial impressions are definitely good.
PCGAMESHARDWARE have had the pleasure of having a first look at the Roccat Kova here are their thoughts:
The Roccat Kova is designed for both, left and right handed use. This is one of the more obvious differences to the Kone which is intended to be used with the right hand. Besides that the entry prices differ, too. While the Kone cost about 70 Euros when it was launched, the Kova is said to become available for 49 Euros. The Kova is a little more puristic than the Kone. It looks more angular, has less buttons and is noticeably lighter. Furthermore the used technology is different, too: The Roccat Kova is equipped with an optical sensor that offers dpi adjustment to 400, 800, 1600 and 3200 dpi. All in all the Kova has five buttons with two side buttons on the left as well as the right side (for left or right handed usage). A nice gimmick: The mouse can be illuminated with changing light colors if the user wants it. The Kova can be configured without any drivers.
During our hands-on tests the Kova made a solid impression. It is working precisely, but the low weight might irritate some users. The sides of the Kova also offer maximum grip and you don’t press the side buttons by accident.
